Interested in HR? Write a piece for the special issue of Perspectives

Perspectives: Policy & Practice in Higher Education is publishing a special issue on managing human resources, with the aim to examine practices and develop our understanding of human resource management in universities.

HRM is concerned with the management of people in organisations including recruitment, training and development, job design, performance appraisal, rewards and benefits, diversity management and bullying and harassment. This may be related to with policy development and implementation, organisational change or industrial relations. We invite papers that address pertinent questions with respect to one of these issues, reports on projects, cases studies, or more empirical papers.

The above is not an exhaustive list and the editors have an open mind on the variety and breadth of the HRM concept that will be of interest to our readers. Papers are usually around 3500 words in length but shorter or longer papers will be considered.

If you wish to submit a paper please send a 500 word outline to the special issue editor Michelle Gander at

More information is available on the Perspectives website at

The deadline for the outline is 31 July 2018.
